SUMMER SOLSTICE - FIERCE CALM 108

  • RUISLIP LIDO Ruislip, HA4 7TY United Kingdom (map)

The world needs some love right now, so let's unite! What better way to do it than by celebrating international day of yoga together by practising together: Whoever, however, wherever we are.

I wanted to do something. Something good. I wanted to give back and serve something more than just the yoga classes. And I saw Fierce Calm and their posts with the big hashtag #yogasavedmylife and I thought, it could actually be me. And I started becoming more curious about who these people are and what they are doing. I went until I met Lee, the founder of it. We met for a coffee and we chatted about the Fierce Calm movement and what they stand for and I got hooked. Although I have not yet shared my story I really wanted to be part of this.
Lee mentioned that they are planning a big event and everyone can be involved. I thought this is it.
I wanted to be involved.
I wanted to share this empowerment that I gained by studying myself through yoga. And here we are... Fierce Calm is hosting the biggest charity event of the year. On the 23rd of June people from all over the world will be gathering for 108 sun salutations in the aid of promoting the healing aspects of yoga, bringing about awareness of the activities that some of their nominated charities are doing. Whoever you are, however you can, you are invited to be part of this.
I partnered up with @hotyogahouse who kindly donated the studio facility to bring people together from the local areas for a sun salutation immersion. I will be leading this with some fellow teachers and volunteers to support this fantastic cause.

I have chosen Exhale to Inhale @exhale2inhale Charity that works with domestic and sexual trauma survivors by using yoga to heal their past experiences. This is something I am passionate about and their activities are really resonated with me. When you are in an environment where deep trust and family ties have damaged, it is hard to find that last string that can pull you over. Yoga and the mind-body-soul awareness that comes with it can be that supporting tool that perhaps create an environment for growth after a traumatic experience.
Please join me on the 23rd June at 2pm @hotyogahouse to give back for yourself and for others. There will be a great cause and tasty refreshments to support this great work.

Donations either have to go straight to Fierce Calm or cash on arrival which will be transferred in all to Fierce Calm.
